C-276 Hastelloy Alloy UNS N10276 Light Stick Has Excellent Corrosion Resistance

C-276 Hastelloy is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium-iron-tungsten nickel-based alloy, which is one of the most corrosion-resistant modern metal materials. Mainly resistant to wet chlorine, various oxidizing chlorides, chloride salt solutions, sulfuric acid and oxidizing salts,It has good corrosion resistance in both low and medium temperature hydrochloric acid.

Application scope of Hastelloy 276

• Heat treatment industry. Such as furnace rollers, bell furnaces, and annealing furnaces
• The steel industry. To directly restore the iron ore process and produce sponge titanium.
• Cleaning equipment used in the nuclear industry, such as nuclear waste eradication.
• Proactive equipment. Such as catalytic support systems and spark plugs.
• Calcination furnace. If it is used to calcine and produce high-power corundum, calcine chromite to produce ferrochrome alloy, and recover nickel used as a catalyst in the petrochemical industry.
• Chemical and petrochemical industries use it to prepare new steam cracking crude oil furnaces for the production of hydrogen, etc.

Characteristics of Hastelloy C276

• It has excellent corrosion resistance to most corrosive media in both oxidation and recovery atmospheres.
• Some have resistance to pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion. The higher Mo and Cr content enables the alloy to resist chloride ion corrosion, while the W element further enhances its corrosion resistance.
• One of few materials to withstand the corrosive effects of wet chlorine gas, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide
• Low carbon content which minimizes grain-boundary carbide precipitation during welding to maintain resistance to corrosion in heat-affected zones of welded joints
